Skills Maintenance Overview
Skills Maintenance lets you define the annual skills and competencies your members must demonstrate, enrol members into plans, and track sign-offs throughout the year. Think of it as a digital training passport.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”A Skills Plan defines what members need to achieve before an annual deadline. Each plan contains:
- Topics — logical groupings of related skills (e.g. “Safety”, “Vehicle Operations”)
- Skills — individual competency items within each topic (e.g. “SCBA donning and doffing”, “Class A fire attack”)
You enrol specific members into a plan, then track completions through:
- Manual sign-off — an admin records a completion directly in the progress matrix
- Auto-completion via training — when a training session is linked to skills and a member is marked as attended, those skills are automatically signed off
Completions are scoped to a cycle — a tracking period that starts when the plan is activated. If the plan is set to roll over annually, a new cycle is created automatically each year when the deadline passes. Otherwise, the plan ends at its deadline.
