How to Share Pre-Plans with Other Units
Pre-plans can be shared with other units in your organisation so that neighbouring brigades have access to site information in their surrounding area. This guide explains how to share and manage shared pre-plans.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Organisation admin or super admin role
- An active pre-plan
- Other units configured in your organisation
1. Open the Pre-Plan
Section titled “1. Open the Pre-Plan”- Navigate to the pre-plan you want to share
- Click the Sharing tab
2. Select Units
Section titled “2. Select Units”The sharing panel displays all units in your organisation (excluding the owning unit):
- Tick the checkbox next to each unit you want to share with
- Untick any units you want to remove sharing from
3. Save Sharing Settings
Section titled “3. Save Sharing Settings”Click Save to apply the sharing changes. The selected units will immediately gain access to the pre-plan.
4. View Shared Pre-Plans
Section titled “4. View Shared Pre-Plans”Brigade members in shared units will see the pre-plan in their Shared Pre-Plans section on the pre-plans index page. A badge indicates which unit the pre-plan originated from.
How Sharing Works
Section titled “How Sharing Works”- Read-only access — Shared units can view pre-plans but cannot edit them
- Origin badge — Shared pre-plans display the originating unit’s name
- No duplicates — A pre-plan can only be shared once with each unit
- Automatic updates — When the owning brigade updates the pre-plan, shared units see the latest version
- Removal — Unticking a unit and saving removes their access immediately
Who Can Share
Section titled “Who Can Share”Only organisation admins and super admins can manage pre-plan sharing. Brigade admins can view shared pre-plans from other units but cannot control sharing settings.
Neighbouring Brigades
Section titled “Neighbouring Brigades”Share pre-plans with brigades that are likely to respond to incidents at the site — particularly neighbouring brigades that may provide mutual aid or first response.
Organisation-Wide Visibility
Section titled “Organisation-Wide Visibility”For high-risk sites, consider sharing the pre-plan with all units in the organisation to maximise awareness.
